BACKGROUND OF CHILD CARE WORKERS - H.B. 6205: FLOOR ANALYSIS

CONTENT
The bill would amend the child care licensing Act to require that an operator of a child care center or child caring institution conspicuously post on the premises a notice stating whether that center or institution required a criminal history check of its employees or volunteers. The Department of Consumer and Industry Services would have to promulgate rules to implement the bill.

FISCAL IMPACT
The bill would result in minimal costs to the State. The bill would require the Department of Consumer and Industry Services to promulgate and distribute rules, which have a minimal cost of approximately $1,000. Existing revenues would be used to cover these costs.
