HOUSE BILL No. 4434 March 8, 2001, Introduced by Reps. Callahan and Hansen and referred to the Committee on Education. A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled "The state school aid act of 1979," by amending section 22b (MCL 388.1622b), as added by 2000 PA 297. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 22b. (1) From the appropriation in section 11, there 2 is allocated an amount not to exceed $1,811,000,000.00 for 3 2000-2001, an amount not to exceed $2,324,000,000.00 for 4 2001-2002, and an amount not to exceed $2,805,000,000.00 for 5 2002-2003 for discretionary payments to districts under this 6 section. 7 (2) Subject to subsection (4), beginning in 2000-2001, the 8 allocation to a district under this section shall be an amount 9 equal to the sum of the amounts calculated under sections 20, 03268'01 a TAV 2 1 20j, 51a(2), 51a(3), and 51a(12), minus the sum of the 2 allocations to the district under sections 22a and 51c. 3 (3) The allocations under this section are not considered to 4 be per pupil revenue for school operating purposes under 5 section 11 of article IX of the state constitution of 1963. 6 (4)InBEGINNING IN 2002-2003, IN order to receive an 7 allocation under this section, each district shall administer in 8 each grade level that it operates in grades 1 to 5 a standardized 9 assessment approved by the department of grade-appropriate basic 10 educational skills.
