        A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled

   "The insurance code of 1956,"

   by amending section 3230 (MCL 500.3230).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 3230.  Any insured who wishes to contest the grounds of

 2
      cancellation, within 7 days after the date of postmark indicating

 3
      mailing of the notice of cancellation, which date shall be

 4
      impressed upon the notice, shall file a written request for hear-

 5
      ing directed to the  department and shall pay a filing fee of

 6
      $15.00 to defray the cost engendered by the hearing

 7
      COMMISSIONER.
