        A bill to amend 1879 PA 237, entitled

   "An act to provide for the execution, acknowledgment, and record-
   ing of contracts for the sale of land,"

   by amending section 1 (MCL 565.351), as amended by 1991 PA 140.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 1.   That contracts  A CONTRACT for the sale of land or

 2
      any interest  therein,  IN THAT LAND shall be  executed in the

 3
      presence of 2 witnesses, who shall subscribe their names as such,

 4
      and the vendor named in the contract, and executing the same may

 5
      acknowledge the execution  ACKNOWLEDGED before any judge or

 6
      before any notary public within this state,  ;  and the officer

 7
      taking  such  THE acknowledgment shall endorse a certificate of

 8
      the acknowledgment  thereof,  and the date of making the  same

 9
      ACKNOWLEDGMENT under his or her hand.
