        A bill to amend 1967 PA 288, entitled

   "Land division act,"

   by amending section 144 (MCL 560.144).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 144.  (1) The proprietor's certificate on the plat

 2
      shall include the following:

 3
           (a) The caption of the plat.

 4
           (b) A statement that the proprietor has caused the land

 5
      described on the plat to be surveyed, divided, monumented,

 6
      mapped, and dedicated as shown on the plat.

           (c) A statement that the streets, alleys, parks, and other

 8
      places shown on it  which  THAT are usually public are dedicated

 9
      to the use of the public.

           (d) A statement that all public utility easements are

 2
      private easements and that all other easements are reserved to

 3
      the uses shown on the plat.

           (e) The name of each street, park, or other place  which

 5
      THAT is usually public and  which  THAT is intended to be

 6
      reserved to other than public use, and the character and purpose

 7
      of  such  THAT use.

 8
           (f)  That  A STATEMENT THAT the plat includes all land to

 9
      the water's edge.

           (2) The proprietor's certificate shall be signed by the fol-

11
      lowing, AND each signature shall be  witnessed by 2 persons, and

12
      the signatures shall be  acknowledged as deeds conveying lands

      are required to be  witnessed and  acknowledged:

           (a) All persons holding the title by deed of the lands.

           (b) All persons holding any other title of record.

           (c) All persons holding title as mortgagee or vendee under

17
      land contract  ,  or who are in possession but  shall not

18
      include  ARE NOT renters.

           (d) The  wives  SPOUSES of persons named in subdivisions

20
      (a), (b), and (c).
