        A bill to name a certain portion of highway US-27 the

   "Veterans Memorial Highway"; and to prescribe certain duties of

   the state transportation department.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 1.  That portion of highway business route US-27 within

      the city of Ithaca from the Ithaca exit on US-27 to South Pine

 3
      River street at the courthouse shall be named the "Veterans

 4
      Memorial Highway".

           Sec. 2.  The state transportation department shall only pro-

 6
      vide for the erection and maintenance of suitable markers indi-

 7
      cating the name of the highway when sufficient private contribu-

 8
      tions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and

 9
      maintaining those markers.
