A bill to amend 1968 PA 319, entitled "An act to provide a uniform crime reporting system; to provide for the submitting of such report to the department of state police; to require submission of the report by certain police agencies; to require the reporting on wanted persons and stolen vehicles; to require the reporting of information regarding cer- tain persons and unidentified bodies of deceased persons; to pre- scribe certain powers and duties of law enforcement agencies; and to vest the director of the department of state police with cer- tain authority," by amending section 7 (MCL 28.257). THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 7. The chief of police of each city or village, the 2 chief of police of each township having a police department, and 3 the sheriff of each county within this state shall report to the 4 department of state police, in a manner prescribed by the depart- 5 ment, the following information related tocrimes ofdomestic 6assaultVIOLENCE INCIDENTS: 05217'01 JJG 2 1 (a) The number of assaults reportedwhichTHAT involve an 2 adult and a minor and the disposition of those offenses. 3 (b) The number of assaults reportedwhichTHAT involve 4 EITHER 2 male adults or 2 female adults and the disposition of 5 those offenses. 6 (c) The number of assaults reportedwhichTHAT involve 1 7 male adult and 1 female adult and the disposition of those 8 offenses. 9 (d) The number ofassaultsCRIMES reportedwhichTHAT 10 involve a person and his or her spouse OR FORMER SPOUSE and the 11 disposition of those offenses. 12 (E) THE NUMBER OF CRIMES THAT INVOLVE AN INDIVIDUAL AND AN 13 INDIVIDUAL WITH WHOM HE OR SHE HAD A CHILD IN COMMON. 14 (F) THE NUMBER OF CRIMES THAT INVOLVE AN INDIVIDUAL AND A 15 RESIDENT OR FORMER RESIDENT OF HIS OR HER HOUSEHOLD. 16 (G) THE NUMBER OF CRIMES THAT INVOLVE AN INDIVIDUAL AND AN 17 INDIVIDUAL WITH WHOM HE OR SHE HAD A DATING RELATIONSHIP. 18 (H)(e)Other statistics the director of the department of 19 state police considers necessary to obtain accurate and reliable 20 data on the incidence of domesticassaultVIOLENCE in this 21 state. 05217'01 Final page.
