        A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled

   "Michigan vehicle code,"

   by amending section 803 (MCL 257.803).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 803.   The fee for special plates as provided for in

 2
      section 244 shall be determined as follows:  If they operate not

 3
      more than 2 such vehicles on the public highway they shall pay

 4
      $30.00 for 2 plates and $15.00 for the third plate and $8.00 each

 5
      for so many additional plates in excess of the first 3 as the

 6
      secretary of state may deem such manufacturer, transporter or

 7
      dealer reasonably needs in his business.  THE SECRETARY OF STATE

 8
      SHALL CHARGE A $10.00 FEE FOR EACH SPECIAL PLATE ISSUED UNDER

 9
      SECTION 244.  THE SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL DETERMINE THE NUMBER

      OF SPECIAL PLATES REASONABLY NEEDED BY A MANUFACTURER,

      TRANSPORTER, OR DEALER.
