        A bill to amend 1846 RS 12, entitled

   "Of certain state officers,"

   by amending section 36 (MCL 15.36).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

             Sec. 36.  The state officers named in this chapter, the

 2
        lieutenant governor,  acting commissioner of internal

 3
        improvements,  deputy secretary of state,  deputy auditor

 4
        general,  AND deputy treasurer,  and secretary of the board of

 5
        internal improvements,  shall each, before entering on the execu-

 6
        tion of his OR HER office, and within 20 days after receiving

 7
        official notice of his OR HER election or appointment, or within

 8
        20 days after the commencement of the term of service for which

 9
        he OR SHE was elected or appointed, take and subscribe the oath

10
        of office prescribed in the  twelfth article of the  STATE

11
        constitution of  this state  1963, and deposit the  same  OATH OF

        OFFICE, with his OR HER bond,  in case  IF a bond  be  IS

        required  of him  by law, with the secretary of state, who shall

        file and preserve the  same  OATH OF OFFICE AND BOND in his OR
