        A bill to amend 1897 PA 153, entitled

   "An act to provide for the payment of expenses in matters in
   which the state is a party or interested,"

   by amending sections 1 and 2 (MCL 14.111 and 14.112).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

             Sec. 1.   That in all cases where  IN ALL CASES IN WHICH the

 2
        state is a party or interested, in which the attorney general

 3
        participates, whenever it becomes necessary to subpoena witnesses

 4
         ,  or to defray other necessary expenses of  such  THAT litiga-

 5
        tion, the attorney general is hereby authorized to present a

 6
        voucher for the amount that he  deems  OR SHE CONSIDERS necessary

 7
         ,  to the  auditor general, and the auditor general shall there-

 8
        upon draw his warrant upon the  state treasurer for  said  THAT

 9
        amount, and the state treasurer shall pay  the same  THAT AMOUNT

        to the attorney general out of any  moneys  MONEY not otherwise

 2
        appropriated in the treasury.

             Sec. 2.  The attorney general shall prepare a full,

 4
        complete, and itemized statement of the expenses as to how and

 5
        for what purpose  said  THE money was expended.   Such  THIS

 6
        itemized bill, after having been audited, shall be filed  in the

 7
        office of the auditor general  WITH THE STATE TREASURER, and the

 8
        amount not expended shall be returned to the state treasurer.
