        A bill to amend 1846 RS 12, entitled

   "Of certain state officers,"

   by amending sections 29 and 32 (MCL 14.29 and 14.32).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

             Sec. 29.   It shall be the duty of the  THE attorney gener-

        al, at the request of the governor, the secretary of state, OR

 3
        the treasurer,  or the auditor general, to  SHALL prosecute and

 4
        defend all suits relating to matters connected with their

 5
        departments.

             Sec. 32.   It shall be the duty of the  THE attorney gener-

        ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL notify the  county  treasurer of the

         proper  county  ,  of the neglect or refusal of any prosecuting

        attorney to make the annual report to the attorney general AS
