A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4144 AS INTRODUCED 2-4-03

The bill would amend the McCauley-Traxler-Law-Bowman-McNeely Lottery Act to prohibit the sale of lottery tickets or shares through vending machines. A "vending machine" would be defined as a self-service device that was offered for public use that dispenses a lottery ticket directly to a purchaser. The bill would also make a number of editorial and technical changes to clarify provisions of the act and to delete obsolete provisions.
