A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4317 AS INTRODUCED 3-11-03
Under current law, the oath of office for members or officers of the state legislature may be administered by a justice of the supreme court, the lieutenant governor, the President Pro Tempore of the state Senate, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The bill would amend this provision to, in addition, allow such oaths to be administered by judges of the circuit or district courts.
