A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4596 AS INTRODUCED 4-29-03
The bill would allow an object or document that contains the Ten Commandments to be displayed on public property. For the object to be displayed, it would have to be displayed with other documents, public records, or other objects of historical significance relating to the legal or governmental structure of the country, and in the same manner as the other documents, records, and objects. In addition, the display could not focus more attention on the document or other object containing the Ten Commandments than on the other documents, records, and objects that are part of the same display.
