A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4786 AS INTRODUCED 5-28-03
The bill would amend the Youth Employment Standards Act so that the act would not apply to or prohibit a minor from engaging in any construction work or operations performed as an unpaid volunteer, if such construction work or operations are performed under adult supervision for a charitable housing organization. “Charitable housing organization” would be defined to mean a charitable organization with the principal purpose of constructing or renovating residential housing for conveyance to low-income individuals.
