A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5043 AS INTRODUCED 8-13-03
The bill amend the Revised School Code to specify that a member of an intermediate school board who had been elected by an electoral body made up of one member of the board of each constituent school district (each of whom had been designated by the board of which he or she was a member) would be subject to recall by the intermediate school electors of the ISD in the manner prescribed in Chapter XXXVI of the Michigan Election Law, except that the petitions would have to be signed by a number of intermediate school electors equal to at least 10 percent of the number of votes cast for the office of governor at the last general election within the ISD territory.
