BARBER SERVICES OFF-SITE

House Bill 5054

A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5054 AS INTRODUCED 9-23-03

The Occupational Code requires, generally speaking, that barber services be rendered only in state-licensed barbershop premises.  There is an exception for services to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, homes for the aged, or a person requiring home care.  House Bill 5054 would add another exception so as to allow barber services to be provided to an individual whose personal circumstances make it impractical for that individual to leave his or her residence to obtain barber services at a barbershop.
