A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5334 AS INTRODUCED 12-3-03
The bill would amend the General Property Tax Act to exempt an “eligible shooting range” from taxation under the act. To be eligible for the exemption, the shooting range would have to be used for firearms training by law enforcement officials, and the commanding officer (i.e. police chief, county sheriff, post commander) would have to file an affidavit to the local assessor stating that the shooting range is available, free of charge, to law enforcement officials for firearms training.
