CONTENT
The bill would amend the Charter Township Act to provide that if a township had not appointed a township superintendent, the township board could employ a township manager, who would serve at the pleasure of the board and perform duties lawfully delegated to the manager by the board. The duties could include those delegated by law to another township official, if that official had granted written consent.
Under the Act, a charter township may appoint a township superintendent and delegate to the individual various powers and duties as prescribed in the Act, including managing and supervising all undertakings of a township.
