SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 5235

                                                                             A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled                                             

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"                       

(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 11527a.                        

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1   Sec. 11527a.  (1) The department shall post on its website a                

2   list of materials prohibited from disposal in a landfill under              

3   section 11514 and appropriate disposal options for those                    

4   materials.                                                                  

5       (2) A solid waste hauler that disposes of solid waste in a                  

6   landfill shall annually notify each of its customers of each of             

7   the following:                                                              

8       (a) The materials that are prohibited from disposal in a                    

9   landfill under section 11514.                                               

10  (b) That appropriate disposal options for those materials are               

11  described on the department's website.                                      

1       (c) The department's website address where the disposal                     

2   options are described.

3       Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take                      

4   effect unless all of the following bills of the 92nd Legislature            

5   are enacted into law:                                                       

6       (a) House Bill No. 5234.                                                    

7       (b) Senate Bill No. 497.                                                    

8       (c) Senate Bill No. 498.                                                    

9       (d) Senate Bill No. 500.                                                    

10      (e) Senate Bill No. 502.
