SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 4950

                                                                             A bill to amend 1947 PA 359, entitled                                             

"The charter township act,"                                                 

(MCL 42.1 to 42.34) by adding section 10a.                                  

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1   Sec. 10a.  If a township has not appointed a township                       

2   superintendent under section 10, the township board may employ a            

3   township manager who shall serve at the pleasure of the township            

4   board and perform such duties lawfully delegated to the manager             

5   by the township board.  The duties may include those that are               

6   delegated by law to another township official if written consent            

7   has been granted by that official.
