SUBSTITUTE FOR
HOUSE BILL NO. 6181
A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 168a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 168a. (1) A person who enters onto the property of
2 another person to window-peep in violation of section 167 or a
3 local ordinance substantially corresponding to section 167 is
4 guilty of a crime as follows:
5 (a) Except as provided in subdivision (b), the person is
6 guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more
7 than 93 days or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.
8 (b) If the person was previously convicted of violating this
9 section, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by
10 imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than
11 $1,000.00, or both.
1 (2) This section does not prohibit the person from being
2 charged with, convicted of, or punished for any other violation
3 of law committed by the person while violating or attempting to
4 violate this section.
