A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled
"Michigan vehicle code,"
by amending section 811l (MCL 257.811l), as added by 2000 PA 70.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 811l. (1) The secretary of state shall develop under
2 section 811e and, upon application, may issue under section 811f
3 a state-sponsored critical nongame fish and wildlife habitat
4 fund-raising registration plate and a matching state-sponsored
5 critical nongame fish and wildlife habitat collector plate as
6 provided under section 811g. The plate shall be of a design as
7 determined by the secretary of state after consultation with the
8 director of the department of natural resources.
9 (2) Critical nongame fish and wildlife habitat fund-raising
10 registration plate donations collected under section 811f and
11 matching critical nongame fish and wildlife habitat collector
1 plate fund-raising donations collected under section 811g shall
2 be transferred under section 811h by the secretary of state to
3 the state treasurer, who shall credit the donation money to the
4 nongame fish and
wildlife trust fund created under section 43902
5 of the natural
resources and environmental protection act, 1994
6 PA 451, MCL 324.43902 nongame fish and wildlife subaccount of
7 the Michigan habitat trust fund created in section 40 of article
8 IX of the state constitution of 1963 and provided for in part 20
9 of the natural resources and environmental protection act, 1994
10 PA 451, MCL 324.2001 to 324.2007.
11 (3) For purposes of this chapter, "state-sponsored critical
12 nongame fish and wildlife habitat fund-raising registration
13 plate" means a registration plate containing a specialized design
14 pertaining to the critical nongame fish or wildlife habitats of
15 this state.
16 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
17 effect unless Senate Joint Resolution _____ or House Joint
18 Resolution J (request no. 03106'03) of the 92nd Legislature
19 becomes a part of the state constitution of 1963 as provided in
20 section 1 of article XII of the state constitution of 1963.
