A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
by amending sections 442 and 447 (MCL 750.442 and 750.447).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 442. (1)
Participating in prize fight--Any Subject
2 to section 447, a person
who shall be is a party to, or engage
3 in engages in, or aids and abets in the conduct of
a prize fight
4 in this state , or
who shall aid or abet therein, shall be is
5 guilty of a felony.
6 (2) A person who is a party to or engages in a tough man
7 contest in this state is guilty of a felony. As used in this
8 subsection, "tough man contest" means an unarmed combat
9 elimination contest between any 2 or more individuals.
10 Sec. 447. Inapplicability
of chapter--The provisions of
11 this This chapter shall does not
apply to any boxing,
1 sparring, or wrestling matches, contests, or exhibitions,
2 conducted, held,
or given pursuant to the provisions of Act
3 No. 328 of the Public
Acts of 1919, as amended, being sections
4 8839 to 8859,
inclusive, of the Compiled Laws of 1929, and acts
5 amendatory thereof article 8 of the occupational code, 1980 PA
6 299, MCL 339.801 to 339.814.
7 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
8 effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. 4977
9 (request no. 04216'03) of the 92nd Legislature is enacted into
10 law.
