A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 758d.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 758d. For purposes of a special election for
2 annexation, incorporation, or disincorporation that is not held
3 in conjunction with another state or local election, if each
4 qualified and registered elector in an election precinct votes by
5 absent ballot before the scheduled election date, the election
6 precinct is not required to be open on the election day. The
7 requirement of sections 759 and 761 for the clerk's office to be
8 open on the Saturday before the election does not apply to an
9 election held under this section if each qualified and registered
10 elector in each of the affected precincts votes by absent ballot
11 before the Saturday before the scheduled election date.
