A bill to amend 1985 PA 87, entitled
"Crime victim's rights act,"
(MCL 780.751 to 780.834) by adding sections 4a, 33b, and 64a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 4a. (1) To facilitate compliance with 15 USC 1681g, a
2 bona fide victim of identity theft is entitled to a police report
3 from a law enforcement agency in a jurisdiction where the alleged
4 violation of identity theft may be prosecuted as provided under
5 section 10c of chapter II of the code of criminal procedure, 1927
6 PA 175, MCL 762.10c.
7 (2) As used in this section, "identity theft" means that term
8 as defined in section 3 of the identity theft protection act.
9 Sec. 33b. (1) To facilitate compliance with 15 USC 1681g, a
10 bona fide victim of identity theft is entitled to a police report
11 from a law enforcement agency in a jurisdiction where the alleged
1 violation of identity theft may be prosecuted as provided under
2 section 10c of chapter II of the code of criminal procedure, 1927
3 PA 175, MCL 762.10c.
4 (2) As used in this section, "identity theft" means that term
5 as defined in section 3 of the identity theft protection act.
6 Sec. 64a. (1) To facilitate compliance with 15 USC 1681g, a
7 bona fide victim of identity theft is entitled to a police report
8 from a law enforcement agency in a jurisdiction where the alleged
9 violation of identity theft may be prosecuted as provided under
10 section 10c of chapter II of the code of criminal procedure, 1927
11 PA 175, MCL 762.10c.
12 (2) As used in this section, "identity theft" means that term
13 as defined in section 3 of the identity theft protection act.
14 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
15 effect unless Senate Bill No. 794 of the 92nd Legislature is
16 enacted into law.
