A bill to amend 2000 PA 190, entitled
"Privately owned cervidae producers marketing act,"
by amending section 8 (MCL 287.958).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 8. (1) A registration issued by the department shall
2 contain the following information:
3 (a) The registration number and expiration date.
4 (b) The cervidae species involved in the cervidae livestock
5 facility.
6 (c) The complete name, business name, business address, and
7 telephone number of the cervidae livestock facility registration
8 holder.
9 (d) The complete address of the cervidae livestock facility
10 location.
11 (e) The complete name, address, and telephone number of the
1 department contact person regarding cervidae livestock
2 operations.
3 (2) The department shall issue to a person meeting the
4 requirements of this act a registration to operate a cervidae
5 livestock facility. The department may provide limited
6 registration classes.
7 (3) The department shall charge the following fees for
8 initial and renewal applications for cervidae facilities:
9 (a) Class I (hobby).................................. $ 45.00.
10 (b) Class II (exhibition)............................ $ 75.00.
11 (c) Class III
(ranch)................................ $500.00
12 $600.00.
13 (d) Full
registration................................ $150.00
14 $210.00.
15 (4) Application for renewal of a registration shall be
16 submitted not later than 60 days before expiration of the current
17 registration. Each registration issued shall be for a period of
18 3 years from the date of issuance.
19 (5) A renewal submitted later than 60 days before expiration
20 of the current registration shall require submission of an
21 initial application. Failure of the department to process a
22 renewal application that was submitted in a timely and complete
23 manner operates to extend the current registration until such
1 time as the department completes the processing.
2 (6) Unless otherwise indicated in writing by the department
3 at the time the department sends a registered facility its
4 renewal application, there is a presumption that the department
5 shall renew the registration upon timely submission of the
6 completed renewal application and registration fee.
7 (7) A sale or transfer of ownership of a cervidae livestock
8 facility requires the new owner or the transferee to notify the
9 department in writing. The department shall require a new
10 registration for a transfer occurring within 6 months of the
11 expiration of the current registration.
