A bill to amend 1943 PA 184, entitled
"Township zoning act,"
by amending section 14 (MCL 125.284).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 14. (1) Amendments or supplements to the zoning
2 ordinance may be made in the same manner as provided in this act
3 for the enactment of the original ordinance.
4 (2) If an individual property or several adjacent properties
5 are proposed for rezoning, the township zoning board shall give a
6 notice of the proposed
rezoning to the all of the following:
7 (a) The owner
of the property in question, to proposed for
8 rezoning.
9 (b) To all persons to
whom that own any real property
10 within 300 feet of the premises
in question is assessed, and to
11 the occupants of all
single and 2-family dwellings proposed
1 rezoned property.
2 (c) To all residents living in and within 300 feet of the
3 proposed rezoned property.
4 (3) The notice shall include a listing of each street
5 address within the proposed rezoned property and be delivered
6 personally or by mail to
the respective owners and tenants
7 residents at the address given in the last assessment roll. If
8 the tenant's name is not known, the term "occupant" may be used.
9 If the notice is delivered by mail, an affidavit of mailing shall
10 be filed with the zoning board before the hearing.
11 (4) The notice shall be made not less than 8 days before the
12 hearing provided by section 9 stating the time, place, date, and
13 purpose of the hearing.
14 (5) An amendment for the purpose of conforming a provision
15 of the zoning ordinance to the decree of a court of competent
16 jurisdiction as to any specific lands may be adopted by the
17 township board and the notice of the adopted amendment published
18 without referring the amendment to any other board or agency
19 provided for in this act.
