A SUMMARY OF SENATE BILL 514 AS PASSED BY THE SENATE 6-1-05

The bill would amend the Revised School Code in order to correct references to sections of the Michigan Election Law.

Currently, the code's definitions of "intermediate school district election" and "regular school election" contain a reference to an election held on the date determined "under Section 642b of the Michigan Election Law." The bill would refer instead to Sections 642 or 642a since those sections provide for the scheduling of school districts' regular elections. (The Michigan Election Law does not include a section 642b.)

MCL 380.4 and 380.5

FISCAL IMPACT:

The bill would have no fiscal impact on state or local government.
