A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4217 AS INTRODUCED 2-8-05
House Bill 4217 would amend the Michigan Election Law to require that ballot language for a proposed constitutional amendment be printed in 8-point type on the front of a petition being circulated among citizens. Further, the front of a petition proposing a constitutional amendment, the initiation of legislation, or a referendum on legislation would have to indicate whether the circulator of the petition was being paid, and if so, by whom. That information would have to appear in 10-point boldfaced type.
