Under House Bill 4727, using a police, fire, or emergency medical communication system to commit a felony would be classified in sentencing guidelines as a Class G felony against the public order with a two-year maximum term of imprisonment.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, and is tie-barred to House Bill 4544, which would make it illegal to use information intercepted from public safety communications systems to commit a crime.
