A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5056 SUBSTITUTE H-1

The bill would amend provisions in the Downtown Development Authority Act regarding the composition of a DDA board.  Currently, the act requires that a majority of the board members "be persons having an interest in property located in the downtown district."  House Bill 5056 would say, instead, that a majority of board members would have to be persons with an interest in property in the district or officers, members, trustees, principals, or employees of a legal entity having an interest in property located in the downtown district.
