STAGGERED TERMS: VILLAGES S.B. 518 (S-1): FLOOR ANALYSIS

CONTENT
The bill would amend the General Law Village Act to specify that, notwithstanding any other provision of the Act, a village could provide by ordinance for staggered terms of its elected officials, including the provision of terms longer than allowed under the Act in order to facilitate the staggering of terms.


Also, notwithstanding any other provision of the Act, the village could provide by ordinance for any election provision that was consistent with the Michigan Election Law.
