SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 4037

     A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

"Public health code,"

(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 9723.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

Sec. 9723. (1) The department shall establish and maintain a

toll-free telephone number that a person may call for information

on prescription drug programs available in this state, including,

but not limited to, free and discounted prescription drug programs.

The department may utilize an existing toll-free telephone line to

satisfy this requirement. The department has the sole discretion of

authority to determine which information shall be made available to

the public through the toll-free telephone line.

     (2) The department shall include on its website a link to the

prescription drug website created and operated by the department of

attorney general in accordance with section 9721.

     Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take effect

unless House Bill No. 4559 of the 93rd Legislature is enacted into

law.
