SENATE BILL No. 1141

 

 

March 14, 2006, Introduced by Senators TOY, GARCIA, BIRKHOLZ, STAMAS, VAN WOERKOM, HARDIMAN, BISHOP, KUIPERS, GOSCHKA, JELINEK, CROPSEY and SCHAUER and referred to the Committee on Economic Development, Small Business and Regulatory Reform.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1944 (1st Ex Sess) PA 52, entitled

 

"An act to provide for the establishment of and quieting the title

to and the recreating of the public records of lands in counties

where records of title have been destroyed in whole or in any

material part by fire, flood or other major disaster, and to

establish the procedure therefor and to provide an appropriation to

pay certain costs thereof,"

 

by amending section 16 (MCL 561.16).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 16.  There is hereby appropriated from the general fund

 

from moneys not otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year ending

 

June 30, 1945 the sum of $10,000.00 which shall be paid out of the

 

state treasury by order of the state administrative board at such

 

times and in such amounts as the general accounting laws of the

 

state provide for the reimbursement of the expenses of any

 

department or agency of the state and of any county expense

 

authorized and made necessary by the provisions of this act,

including the cost of lease or purchase of a photostat machine to

 

be used in reestablishment of the county records: Provided,

 

however,  The state administrative board, before releasing any

 

appropriations to a county for expenses authorized or required

 

under this act, may require that there be erected a suitable

 

fireproof structure for the storage of public records, the plans

 

for which have been approved by the  state fire marshal  bureau of

 

fire services created in section 1b of the fire prevention code,

effect unless all of the following bills of the 93rd Legislature

 

are enacted into law:
