Senate Bill 485 (Substitute S-2 as reported by the Committee of the Whole)
Sponsor: Senator Wayne Kuipers
Committee: Judiciary
CONTENT
The bill would amend Chapter IX (Judgment and Sentence) of the Code of Criminal Procedure to change a citation to the definition of "listed offense" in the Sex Offenders Registration Act (SORA).
In a provision of Chapter IX dealing with a court's determination of whether a defendant's offense constitutes a sexual offense against an individual under 18 years of age, the Code refers to a listed offense as defined in Section 2(d) of SORA. The bill would refer instead to Section 2(e) (the section of SORA that defines "listed offense").
