The bill would amend the Worker's Disability Compensation Act to revise the provision regarding jurisdiction over injuries suffered outside of Michigan.

Currently, the Worker's Compensation Agency has jurisdiction over all controversies arising out of injuries suffered outside this State where the injured employee is a resident of Michigan at the time of injury and the contract for hire was made in this State. Under the bill, the Agency would have jurisdiction over all controversies arising out of injuries suffered outside this State if the injured employee were employed by an employer subject to the Act and if either the employee were a resident of Michigan at the time of injury or the contract of hire were made in this State.
