     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 848a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 848a. If a candidate has not filed or paid all

 

statements, reports, late filing fees, and fines required of the

 

candidate or a candidate committee organized to support the

 

candidate's election under the Michigan campaign finance act, 1976

 

PA 388, MCL 169.201 to 169.282, and those statements, reports, late

 

filing fees, or fines remain unfiled or unpaid for more than 12

 

months, that candidate is not eligible to run for any public office

 

in this state until those statements, reports, late filing fees, or

 

fines have been filed or paid.
