A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 543n.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 543n. (1) An individual shall not use or attempt to use
any document that he or she knows is false, altered, or illegally
obtained to establish his or her identity to do any of the
following or make any material statement that he or she knows is
false or misleading to do any of the following:
(a) Board a commercial aircraft.
(b) Board a railroad car or street car.
(c) Board a commercial bus.
(d) Board a commercial watercraft.
(e) Rent a motor vehicle from a motor vehicle rental agency.
(2) An individual who violates this section is guilty of a
felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or a
fine of not more that $5,000.00, or both.
