     A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled

 

"Revised judicature act of 1961,"

 

(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 2977.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 2977. If an elected official of a municipality has been

 

convicted of a criminal act and if the criminal act has caused the

 

municipality to sustain a pecuniary loss because of a civil

 

judgment or settlement of a civil action, the municipality may

 

bring a civil action against the elected official to recover the

 

loss sustained by the municipality.
