A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57v; and to repeal acts
and parts of acts.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 57v. (1) An individual receiving assistance under this
act shall submit to a substance abuse test every 6 months as a
condition of eligibility for the assistance he or she receives
under this act.
(2) The cost of the substance abuse testing required in
subsection (1) shall be paid by the individual being tested.
Enacting section 1. Section 57l of the social welfare act, 1939
PA 280, MCL 400.57l, is repealed.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act takes effect January
1, 2009.
