A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4054 AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON 3-5-09

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate a portion of Highway M-50 in Jackson County as the "Jackson County Veteran's Memorial Highway."

The designation would apply to the portion of M-50 beginning with its intersection with Riverside Road and continuing north to US-127.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the state transportation department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
