OVERVIEW

House Bill 4309, as passed the House, was a negative supplemental for the Department of Human Services.  The bill, as passed the Senate, is a negative supplemental for the Judiciary, Legislature, and Legislative Auditor General.  Appropriations for these areas are reduced consistent with similar reductions included in Executive Order 2009-22 for Executive branch departments.

1.         Reduce Funding by 4.0%

Reduction of 4.0% in total GF/GP appropriations for Judiciary, excluding appropriations for judicial salaries.  Reductions are spread to various line items as administrative cuts that will come in the form of vacancies, retirements, and potential furlough days.  Branchwide appropriations reductions are allocated back to Supreme Court, Supreme Court Administrative Office, and Court of Appeals.
