PASSAGE OF SCHOOL AID BUDGET BY JUNE 1

SUMMARY:

HB 5809 would amend the State School Aid Act by adding section 9.  Section 9 states the Legislature shall provide annual appropriations for schools no later than June 1 for the State fiscal year beginning October 1.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The bill would have no fiscal impact on the State.  There is no fiscal impact to the school districts; however, it would allow districts to have more accurate budget information in advance of their school year which begins July 1.
