CONTENT
The bill would create the "Right of Publicity Act" to provide that an individual who was a public figure would have a protected right of publicity. "Right of publicity" would mean a property right in the name or likeness of an individual.


The name or likeness of an individual who was a public figure could not be used for commercial profit during his or her lifetime or for a period of 50 years after the date of the person's death, without the written consent of the individual or his or her successor in interest.
