1. State Trunkline Federal Aid and Road and Bridge Construction. The supplemental adds Federal stimulus funding for MDOT road and bridge projects throughout the state.	635,403,700

3. Bus Transit. The supplemental adds Federal stimulus funding for capital purchases for rural transit systems. Note: Urban transit systems will receive capital funding directly from the Federal government rather than as a state pass-through.	21,930,000

FY 2008-09 TRANSPORTATION SUPPLEMENTAL BOILERPLATE HIGHLIGHTS

Changes from FY 2008-09 Year to Date:

1. Automatic Appropriations. The supplemental includes language which automatically appropriates any additional funding received by MDOT through future redistributions of Federal stimulus money. The Department must report any such additional funding to the Senate and House Appropriations Subcommittees, the fiscal agencies, the State Budget Director, and the Governor within 30 days of receipt. (Sec 301)

2. Fund Balance Carry-forward. The supplemental includes language permitting unencumbered and unallotted funds to be carried forward under certain circumstances into the next fiscal year. (Sec 302)

3. Compliance with Federal Provisions. The supplemental includes language requiring local governments and others receiving funds to comply with the provisions of the Federal stimulus package. (Sec 303)
