CONTENT
The bill would amend the Emergency 9-1-1 Service Enabling Act to allow $5.0 million from the Emergency 9-1-1 Fund to be used in fiscal year 2009-10 to fund a portion of the costs of the Michigan Public Safety Communications System and to allow $7.0 million from the Fund to be used in fiscal year 2010-11 for the same purpose.

FISCAL IMPACT
The bill would reduce the September 2010 balance of the Emergency 9-1-1 Fund of $16.8 million to approximately $4.8 million by September 30, 2011, should no other appropriations from or to the Fund be made. The funds authorized for use by the bill are appropriated within the Department of State Police budget bills for FY 2009-10 (Public Act 133 of 2009) and FY 2010-11 (Enrolled House Bill 5888).
