House Bill 6462 (as discharged)
Sponsor: Representative Fred Miller
House Committee: Transportation
Senate Committee: Transportation
CONTENT
The bill would amend the definition of "county road commission" in Public Act 51 of 1951, the Michigan Transportation Fund law, to refer to a charter county with a population of 750,000 or more with an elected county executive.
Currently, "county road commission" means the board of county road commissioners or, in the case of a charter county with a population of 2.0 million or more with an elected county executive that does not have a board of county road commissioners, the county executive for ministerial functions and the county commission for legislative functions. The bill would lower that population threshold to 750,000.
