     A bill to amend 1992 PA 234, entitled

 

"The judges retirement act of 1992,"

 

by amending section 205 (MCL 38.2205).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 205. The department shall be responsible for the

 

budgeting, procurement, and related management functions of the

 

retirement system. The director of the bureau office of retirement

 

systems in the department is the executive secretary of the

 

retirement system. The executive secretary, with department

 

approval, shall employ the services of an actuary and, subject to

 

rules of the civil service commission, shall employ medical

 

advisers, clerical, technical, and administrative employees the

 

executive secretary considers necessary for the proper operation of

 


the retirement system. Group health insurance plans, dental plans,

 

and vision plans applicable to retirants, retirement allowance

 

beneficiaries, and former qualified participants under this act

 

shall be provided and authorized in accordance with the Michigan

 

health benefits program act. Coverage provided and plans authorized

 

in accordance with the Michigan health benefits program act shall

 

be provided and authorized subject to section 21 of the Michigan

 

health benefits program act.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless House Bill No. 5345 of the 95th Legislature is enacted into

 

law.
