A bill to provide for a registry to notify Michigan residents
who want to honor Michigan soldiers who have died in combat; and to
provide for certain duties of certain state agencies.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the
"honoring fallen soldiers act".
Sec. 2. The department of military and veterans affairs shall
post information on the internet concerning members of the United
States military who are residents of this state and who have been
killed in combat.
Sec. 3. The department shall ensure that a resident of this
state who registers at the site, gives his or her electronic mail
address, and wishes to be notified through electronic mail of the
death of a member of the military who is a resident of this state
may be notified so that the member of the military may be honored
by the flying of a flag at half-mast or other appropriate method.
